When someone finds your pet, they hold their phone near the tag — no app needed. Your pet’s profile appears instantly with a “Call Owner” button. The call routes through TappaTag’s private relay, so neither your number nor the finder’s is ever revealed.
Nope. TappaTag works with any modern smartphone using built-in NFC — the same technology behind Apple Pay and Google Pay. No app for you, and no app for the person who finds your pet.
An engraved tag puts your phone number on display for anyone to see and can’t be updated. TappaTag lets you update your info anytime, log daily walks, build streaks, and keeps both your number and the finder’s completely private when a call goes through.
No — they do different jobs. AirTag finds where your pet is. TappaTag is how the person who already found your pet reaches you. AirTag uses Apple’s Find My network for location. TappaTag opens a pet profile with a private call button when a stranger taps the tag. Use them together, or use TappaTag on its own.
Not at all. TappaTag works fully on its own. Every TappaTag ships with an AirTag holder attachment that mounts to the same carabiner — so if you already have an AirTag (or want to add one later), it slots right in. The AirTag itself is sold separately by Apple.
No. One purchase covers the tag, the private call relay, the finder page, walk logging, care reminders, and every other digital feature — for the life of the tag. No subscription, no annual renewal, no surprise charges.
When a finder taps the tag and presses Call Owner, the call goes through a TappaTag relay number first, then connects to you. The finder sees the relay number on their phone. You see the relay number on yours. Neither side ever learns the other’s real number. If you miss the call, you can call the relay number back within 24 hours and TappaTag will reconnect you to the finder — still privately, on both ends.
Yes. The private relay is included with your TappaTag at no additional cost for the operational lifetime of the service. There is no subscription tier and no plan to add one. We reserve the right to apply reasonable usage limits to protect the system from abuse — typical legitimate use falls well below those limits.
Tap your pet’s tag with your phone to log a walk. TappaTag tracks your pattern — daily, weekday, or weekend — and builds a streak that fits your real life. Hit milestones, share them on social media, and keep your pet’s routine on track. Walk logging and streaks are included for all TappaTag owners.
Yes. You can set text reminders for flea & tick, heartworm, grooming, and vet visits. Each reminder is individually configurable — choose your own intervals and turn any reminder on or off from your dashboard at any time. Tap the tag to log and reset the reminder.
Every TappaTag comes with a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. If your tag fails under normal use within the first year, we’ll replace it free of charge — just reach out and we’ll get a new one to you. The warranty covers the physical tag; loss, chewing, and intentional damage are not covered.
Just log into your dashboard and update your info. Since nothing is engraved, your tag never goes out of date.
Each TappaTag comes with a gold spring gate O-ring that clips easily onto any collar or harness. It’s secure, looks great, and includes a noise-canceling grommet so there’s no rattling.
